Rotorua Powertool Centre began trading in 2001 as “Surplus Tools & Machinery” and during that time has grown from a second hand industrial tools and machinery store to what is now regarded as Rotorua’s best selection of quality branded hand tools, welders, machinery and powertools including the Makita Shop – one of only ten in NZ. Also represented in store is Milwaukee and Panasonic Powertools, Powerbuilt, SP Tools, Irwin, Stanley and Toledo hand tools plus a growing selection of safety clothing and equipment.
Jim Hay is the owner/manager and has an extensive background in the welding/engineering trade where still he skives off to from time to time. Jim Bennett, our counter sales rep is a local icon in Rotorua having spent over 38yrs between Lee Bros, Benchmark, Heaton’s and now it’s our turn. Kevin and Dave are our part-timers who also have backgrounds in woodwork and engineering.
Jim’s dream is still evolving and recently we’ve added a service man to our repertoire so we can offer the complete after sales service package and he has other plans coming to fruition in the future, so watch this space.
