While NEWLANDS AUTO ELECTRICAL has a history going back almost 70 years, it wasn't until early 2000 that we extended our activities to selling and servicing a wide range of leading-brand powertools!
Now Ashburton's official Powertool Centre, the business was started by Bill Newlands in 1935. Today, the owner-operator is Robert Newlands (grandson of Bill, and son of John who recently retired after more than 40 years at the helm). In our modern premises in Kermode Street we have two large workshops, a spacious showroom and a separate battery division. In total, we have 12 staff.
We carry out all types of auto-electrical repair work, and have long been a major supplier of batteries and spare parts. Now, with power tools on board, we have more than ever to offer our customers throughout the Mid-Canterbury region.
